Fernand Khnopff

Khnopff

I came across Fernand Khnopff in one of the fine art books when I was working in the library while in school. I thought his work was so beautiful yet slightly creepy and otherworldly. I had never heard of him, and I’m not sure how famous he really is, but I think his work is incredible.

Looking at this makes me feel very strange. That water is peaceful yet so menacing, and the air feels still.

These remind me of Alexander McQueen.

Elle, ma belle

Here’s a scan of the Elle cover I mentioned earlier. Magazine cover photography being elevated to art.

SNL Photography

I love the photography on SNL and recently I found out who the photographer is: Mary Ellen Matthews.
