You know how sometimes you just feel stuck? Everything feels like it’s at a standstill? Nothing new, no new ideas, same old same old. That’s kind of where I’m now, taking it one day at a time. I’m itching for a change, but inspiration eludes me. So, in order to create a change, I decided to start a body building program. I’m hoping that by changing my physical self, it will also create a mental change. Function following form, or some such thing. Like getting your hair cut short, but on a much larger scale. I’ve completed week 1 of a twelve week program, and I’ll be posting updates as I go along.
I don’t plan on becoming a female Schwarzenegger, but I do want to see muscles! Also, feeling like a bad-ass wouldn’t hurt. If you’re reading this and have any tips/advice/etc, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
And just with a quick google search for Mirror Man North Carolina, I found out who the artist is. And that the piece is even MORE awesome than it first appears.
The artist is Czech artist David Černý, and he creates awesome sculptures(?)/living pieces. You can see how the pieces moves throughout the day here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/24/elaborate-mirror-fountain_n_1028949.html
It seriously almost feels like a religious experience standing in front of this. It’s like Dorothy seeing the Wizard for the first time…remember that giant green head? Yea. Except way cooler.
P.S: If you want to see this for yourself, the address is 3700 Arco Corporate Drive Charlotte, NC 28273.
This piece of awesomeness is just about the most awesomest awesome thing I’ve unexpectedly seen here in Charlotte. It’s not in Uptown, but in the Steele Creek area. Yea. Who knew? I don’t have any details about it, I didn’t see any information about the artist. If anyone has any info, I’d love to know more.
It’s made up of mirrors and on a calm day, the head is reflected in the water below.
You know how some movies you really like because of the way they look? Especially the costumes? I recently read about the designer Eiko Ishioka, and I realized that she has designed a lot of really awesome movie costumes.
From movies like Dracula and The Cell, to Grace Jones’ costume, Eiko’s work is diverse and always stunning. It also reminds me a lot of Alexander McQueen, wild and fantastic.
Literally! How great is this concept? It’s by French designer Emilie {check out her site here}. What a unique way to portray Pantone colors {although really, Pantone doesn’t invent colors, that’s the work of Mother Nature}. There are Pantone mugs and even lipsticks. Recently I ordered a lipstick from Sephora that’s the color of 2012, Tangerine Tango. Can’t wait to try it out!
Orange has long been a favorite color of mine, I mean, how can you not be HAPPY just looking at it?
